Welcome to While In The Valley !

Seventh-Day Adventism, a Christian denomination rooted in the 19th-century Millerite movement, anticipates the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Central to our beliefs is the observance of Saturday as the Sabbath, grounded in the Fourth Commandment stated in Exodus 20. The movement places a strong emphasis on the Bible and recognizes Ellen G. White's writings as a helping guide in understanding prophecy and devotion to the cause of Christ.

"We believe that the gifts of the spirit are given to the believer at baptism to build up the church until the day Jesus comes again. Acts 2:17,18,38; 1 Corinthians 1:6,7; Revelation 12:17 and 19:10; 1 Thessalonians 5:19,21; Ephesians 4:11-13; Joel 2:28,29

In accordance with this, we believe that the gift of prophecy was manifest in the ministry of Ellen White from 1844-1915. While Ellen White did play a major role in helping the fledging Seventh-day Adventist church to become one of the fastest growing Protestant churches in the world, she herself taught that our beliefs are to be taken from the Bible only and not from her writings. Every belief stated here has Bible verses to support it."(summary of adventists beliefs)

Adventists are known for a health-conscious lifestyle, often adopting vegetarian diets, and the denomination operates numerous healthcare and educational institutions worldwide (i.e. Andrews and Oakwood University).

We are not doing the will of God if we sit in quietude, doing nothing to preserve liberty of conscience. Fervent, effectual prayer should be ascending to heaven that this calamity may be deferred until we can accomplish the work which has so long been neglected. Let there be most earnest prayer and then let us work in harmony with our prayers.
